My name is Stephanie Lynn Barkley. I reside near Syracuse, NY. I like to make art, take pictures, go for long walks and camp. I like birds, to socialize, and the way the air smells in the woods. I like tea and coffee, love nature. Owls fascinate me. I consider myself an artist. I have no idea what I'm doing with my life--but I'm majoring in Fine Arts, hoping it might lead to an Art Therapy degree.

I want to live here.
“Let’s paint a picture of the prefect place…”
I want to live in this little village. Right there in the middle. What do you think it’d be like? I think it’d be peaceful. I don’t think we’d have as many problems as we do now because those who live here, who don’t have as much, wouldn’t find the little insignificant things so problematic. We are so spoiled it’s astonishing. With all our clothes, new shoes, cars, internet and programs. What’s more horrible is that I’ll complain because I don’t know what kind of coffee I want from Dunkin Donuts when there are kids from Sudan or even right downtown next to where I live that don’t have a meal everyday. It’s so hypocritical. And you know what’s so pathetic and unfortunate? I won’t change. You probably won’t either because we’re all spoiled and stupid.
My almost prefect place would be living in a little village where there isn’t much to worry about. Where everyone cared, and we weighed are self-worth by how much milk we shared with our neighbor instead of how much money we made. Maybe even isolated from the rest of the world would be prefect, maybe.
Where would be your prefect place to live?

  2. pursesandcoffee answered: I have to agree with you. Yet I am also hypocritical, I haven’t done very many selfless things lately.
